LE MANOIR DE VILLIERS

Tourist informations : Lodgings and best food in Port-En-Bessin and in the surroundings - The "Manoir de Villiers". The lords of Villiers owned that castle from the XII^th century. During the Hundred Years War, two knights of the area, Raoul de Couverts and Thomas de Surrain, kept the site secure against the English invaders in 1417. But they could not face count Huntyndone's successive atttacks, and surrendered on August 25 th. The lords of Villiers remained the owners of the castle for many centuries. In 1970, Kristine VERMES acquired the place, then a ruin. After great expenses, they restored it to welcome you today.The "Manoir de Villiers", with its ideal situation, 200 metres far from the Omaha Beach Golf course, overlooks Port-En-Bessin. Nice and most comfortable rooms have been fitted up as well as one suite of rooms. Kristine VERMES will receive you and, after a generous breakfast, you will be able to have a stroll in the orchards around the building. You will discover the quietness of an old manor.
