That religious celebration was first established at the beginning of this century, on the instigation of Father Bernard, who was the priest in charge of Port-En-Bessin from 1907 till 1950. The first time took place on sunday, the 5 th of july 1908 in the presence of Rev. Father Lemonnier, the bishop of Bayeux, who had spent his chilhood among the fishermen in the North of France. It was in the Northern countries of Europe (protestant countries)
